LAYOUT

right click between panels > split > multiple viewports
ctrl+U – save as defaults

SAVE/LOAD
=========
F1 > open
F2 > save as
Ctrl+S / Ctrl + W > save

NAVIGATION/CONTROL
===================
keys:
g > move(translate)
r > rotate
s > scale
gestures:
click and draw a line > translate
click and draw a C shape > rotate
click and draw a V shape > scale
when in any of the above modes press X/Y/Z to constrain to axis
press X/Y/Z again to move on local axis (normal axis?)
set translate mode > Ctrl + Alt + G
set rotate mode > Ctrl + Alt + R
set scale mode > Ctrl + Alt + S
hold Shift > constrain to smaller increments
n > numerical input (shift+click to type in)
EDIT
====
Tab > toggle object/edit mode
A > toggle select all
B > draw select bounding box
Alt+B > toggle view clip bounding box
E > extrude
F > join >> 2 vertices selected > join as 1 age
multiple vertices/edges selected > join as a face
Ctrl+R > split
>> then Alt + click to finish splitting in the same spot
>> move mouse to select a region

X – erase (vertices, edges, faces, etc.)

Ctrl + Tab > Select Mode >> Ctrl + Tab + 1 > vertices
Ctrl + Tab + 2 > edges
Ctrl + Tab + 3 > polys
Ctrl + 1,2,3,4 while hovering over object > apply subsurf + subdivision level(1,2,3,4)

hover over sub-objects in edit mode and press L to select

VIEW

Use numpad keys:
Top > 7
Front > 1
Side > 3
Camera > 0
Ortho/Perspective toggle:5

Shift+P > Preview Render (small region, like swift3d or poser)
F12 > Render Scene (single frame, like F9 in 3dsmax)

Draw darker area on render excluded zones F9 (Editing) > Passepartout (with camera selected)
