Goldsmiths' Ben Pimlott Building, completed in 2005

The Venue

CC07 will be held at Goldsmiths College in the University of London. Goldsmiths is one of the UK's leading arts and humanities research institutions; interdisciplinarity is endemic. Goldsmiths has been voted in the top "cool" brands in the UK for the past three years, and has educated more than half of the winners of the Turner Prize.

Travel to Goldsmiths

Goldsmiths is located at New Cross, with two Tube/National Rail stations nearby: New Cross and New Cross Gate.
There are direct connections from Gatwick Airport (via National Rail; change at East Croydon for London Bridge via New Cross Gate) and City Airport (via East London Line Tube/Docklands Light Railway).
There are direct connections from Waterloo International Eurostar Terminal (via National Rail from London Waterloo East) to New Cross and New Cross Gate stations.

More detailed information is available on Goldsmiths' Web Site (Click here).

Workshop Facilities

CC07 will take place in Goldsmiths' Cinema (also called the Small Hall), a comfortable venue with excellent AV facilities. The Cinema, located in the Richard Hoggart Building (the College's main building), is adjacent to a café/bar with open-air terrace, the College Quadrangle, and the College Green.

A NatWest bank with a Maestro/Cirrus cash machine is the same building.

There is good access for wheelchair users to this part of the College.

Overnight Accommodation

There are numerous hotels, hostels and bed-and-breakfasts in the New Cross area. A brochure listing many of them and their prices (as correct in February 2007) is available here. We regret that we are unable to give recommendations; inclusion in this brochure should not be taken as such.
